General Information About Twin Volcanoes Ride MTB
The tour starts in San José or Turrialba, where the guide in charge of the ride will pick you up to board the bus and take you to the top of the Irazú Volcano National Park.
Once we arrive at the Irazú Volcano, we will take a brief tour inside the National Park to see the craters. While you enjoy this experience, our collaborators will prepare the bicycles before the ride departure. If the day is clear, we can see the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. Additionally, we can catch sight of the Turrialba Volcano from the top of Irazú Volcano.
Each person is provided with a mountain bike, helmet, and gloves, along with safety instructions for all group members. We begin the tour by descending a gravel road through the cloud forest and tropical jungle. Along the way, we pass through fields where potatoes and other vegetables are harvested.
70% of the ride is downhill, with some medium-difficulty hill climbs afterward. We pass by the Turrialba Volcano, reaching the community called La Central, before descending a path that leads us back to Turrialba, where our tour concludes.
Our guides are experienced cyclists trained in education, safety, and first aid. They are well-versed in the area of the tour, including the wildlife and terrain characteristics.
